We’ve worked with fertility doctors to develop vitamins to support fertility. Thanks to our research-intensive formulas, we have favoured nutrients that ensure maximum absorption.
+fertiwomen Inositol contains optimal doses of 15 premium essential nutrients, including Myo-Inositol, active folate Quatrefolic® (5-MTHF), Coenzyme Q10, selenium, chelated iron bisglycinate and L-Arginine.
Contains no milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, nuts, soya, peanuts, wheat yeast, gluten, maize, sodium, sugar, starch, artificial colourings, preservatives or flavourings.
Our +fertiwomen range uses only pure Myo-Inositol in the form that has been most extensively studied and proven to be most effective for female fertility (rather than D-chiro-inositol alone). This form, which occurs naturally in the body, is immediately active and acts directly on insulin sensitivity and egg quality, even in cases of PCOS or insulin resistance. Myo-Inositol is relevant for both women and men. Numerous independent studies show that it improves egg maturation, increases spontaneous ovulation rates, and improves sperm parameters (motility and morphology) in men. It is now considered the number one “natural hormone regulator” for fertility. ¹ Nordio M. et al. « Myo-inositol plus folic acid improves oocyte and embryo quality in PCOS patients » – European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences, 2019. ² Facchinetti F. et al. « Results from the International Myo-Inositol Consensus Conference » – Gynecological Endocrinology, 2020. Vitamin C is an essential antioxidant for men and women who want to become parents. In women, this vitamin increases hormone levels and helps regulate menstruation. Studies have also shown that taking vitamin C is effective in stimulating fertility. Vitamin B12 ensures balanced, high-quality sex hormones. In women, regular daily consumption of vitamin B12 may optimise menstrual cycles, thicken the endometrium and promote ovulation. Vitamin B6 helps in the fertilisation process, as it increases the duration of the luteal phase during menstruation. During the luteal phase, the uterus becomes receptive to fertilisation and embryo implantation. Vitamin B6 also ensures the regularity of your menstrual cycles. Recent scientific studies confirm that coenzyme Q10 supplementation clinically significantly improves fertility parameters in women and men (egg quality and maturity, sperm motility and vitality). In +fertiwomen and +fertimen, we have selected the ubiquinol form (the reduced and active form of CoQ10) because it can be used directly by the body, is much better absorbed than traditional ubiquinone and acts more quickly as a powerful antioxidant. Ubiquinol protects oocytes from daily oxidative stress while optimising energy production in the mitochondria of reproductive cells – two essential mechanisms for improving egg quality and promoting natural conception. The dose has been determined by our medical formulators based on current scientific data: it offers optimal, safe and effective support for women trying to conceive, without the risk of side effects or overdose. Much higher doses (200 to 600 mg) are generally only justified in specific situations (IVF, age > 38, confirmed low ovarian reserve) and should always be preceded by a medical diagnosis. Arginine is one of the 20 amino acids that make up our proteins. L-Carnitine is present in very high concentrations in follicular fluid and mature oocytes, where it plays an essential role in transporting fatty acids to the mitochondria to produce the energy needed for oocyte maturation and early embryonic development. It also protects oocytes from oxidative stress by acting as a natural antioxidant, thereby reducing oocyte DNA fragmentation and improving egg quality. Recent meta-analyses and trials confirm these effects: after 2 to 3 months of L-carnitine supplementation, the oocyte maturation rate increases by 10 to 25%, the fertilisation rate by 8 to 18%, and the rate of good-quality blastocysts by 12 to 30% compared to placebo, with particularly marked benefits in women over 35 and in cases of poor ovarian response.¹ That is why our medical formulators have included L-carnitine in +fertiwomen at the optimal dose: safe, effective daily support with no side effects, working in perfect synergy with ubiquinol and the other active ingredients in the formula to maximise your chances of natural conception. ¹ Zhao W et al. The efficacy of orally administered L-carnitine in alleviating ovarian dysfunctions has laid the foundation for targeted in vivo use: a study employing self-control and propensity score matching. An increased intake of vitamin E can lead to a significant increase in fertility in both men and women. +ferti has been designed with ferrous bisglycinate, which has been shown to be easily absorbed, causing fewer side effects and less likely to block the absorption of vitamin E and calcium. While most prenatal vitamin supplements use vitamin D from an animal source (lamb’s wool), our +ferti range has been designed with vitamin D carefully extracted from seaweed to provide an easily absorbable vegan form of vitamin D3. Made with Vita-algae D, a sustainable, vegan form of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). Our +ferti range uses only Quatrefolic®, the most bioavailable patented form of 5-MTHF folate on the market (rather than synthetic folic acid). This active form can be used immediately by the body, even in cases of MTHFR mutation. Read our article to find out more. Folic acid is important for both women and men. The results of two independent studies suggest that high doses of supplemental folate can help the body reduce the negative effects of environmental pollutants on fertility. It is also described as the vitamin of life. Higher intakes of 5-MTHF Quatrefolic® have been linked to a reduced risk of infertility, shorter time to pregnancy, lower risk of miscarriage and better fertility treatment outcomes.¹ Folate plays a role in the process of cell division. ¹ Dietary folate intake and modification of the association of urinary bisphenol A concentrations with in vitro fertilisation outcomes among women from a fertility clinic – Lidia Mínguez-Alarcón et al., Reproductive Toxicology, 2016.
Higher intakes of Myo-Inositol have been correlated with: – restored ovulation in 65-88% of women with PCOS – improved egg and embryo quality in IVF – a significantly higher clinical pregnancy rate (up to +20% in combination with folic acid) – a shorter time to conception and a reduced risk of miscarriage¹²
Myo-Inositol contributes to normal insulin metabolism and ovarian signaling.
Taking L-Arginine is beneficial for both male and female fertility. It is often recommended for couples trying to conceive. It helps the body produce nitric oxide, which promotes blood flow to the genitals and ovaries.
It is generally recommended that women of childbearing age take a prenatal food supplement if they are not trying to prevent pregnancy, if they are planning a pregnancy in the near future, if they are trying to get pregnant, if they are pregnant or if they are breastfeeding.
This recommendation stems from the fact that up to 45% of pregnancies are unintended. Some of the most important growth for your baby occurs in the first month of pregnancy, often before you even know you’re pregnant. This is why obstetric gynaecologists recommend that you start taking a prenatal vitamin several months before you actively try to conceive.
For the entire preconception period, we recommend our +ferti food supplement, which contains all the nutrients you need to prepare for and start pregnancy. Once your pregnancy is confirmed, you can take our +mum food supplement.
Our dietary supplement has been carefully developed based on studies that reflect the latest research in fertility and conception. The development of the formula was led by our certified gynaecologist and obstetrician, Dr Alexandra Fischer-Stoca.
